# Did not attend invoices

When a patient misses an appointment, you can charge them for it automatically through Effra.

## How it works

When you raise an invoice with **did not attend** in the line item description, Effra will:

* Send the invoice to the patient immediately.
* Charge the card on file, if one exists, when the invoice is due.

This lets you recover missed appointment fees without any manual chasing.

## Turning the feature on

Admins can enable did not attend invoices from the [configuration settings](https://app.effra.io/settings/config) in the Effra dashboard.
