# Getting remittance statements from insurers
Receiving remittance statements from insurers is essential for matching payments against the invoices you have submitted. Without them, it can be a challenge to identify shortfalls, deductions or unpaid claims. As each insurer offers different ways to receive remittance statements, getting hold of them can be very confusing.
## Using Healthcode to receive remittance statements
Some clinics choose to use Healthcode to receive their remittance statements from insurers. Healthcode stores these for 3 months, unless you’re on a paid package which can extend that period for up to 18 months.
## Receiving remittance statements directly from insurers
All insurers have ways to deliver remittance statements directly to providers. With that in mind, we’ve outlined the different ways that you can receive your remittance statements from the major UK insurers.
