# Why have we written this guide?

  As a healthcare provider, getting paid by insurers can be a headache, not least because each major UK health insurer has their submission, adjudication and remittance processes set up in different ways.

  At Effra, we spend a lot of our time thinking about health insurer billing and how we can make it easier for busy practitioners. Whilst doing so, we’ve built up a strong understanding of how each UK insurer handles claims.
